Elevate People. Elevate Performance.
Helping people and teams who want to close the gap and grow.
25+ years of military leadership and instruction experience, from RNZAF recruit training to community coaching in Blenheim.
Real experience, applied to the people who need it.
Ascend is a young business built on a genuine track record. Tap any card for more on how that experience applies.
Organisations & Businesses
Leadership development and team-building programmes for teams wanting to close performance gaps.
Sports Teams & Clubs
Coaching and team management, drawing on Paul's current work coaching two youth football teams in Blenheim.
Community & Youth Programmes
Ongoing support of CACTUS (Combined Adolescent Challenge Training Unit & Support), reflecting a genuine commitment to youth development.
Individuals
Personal training and facilitation experience across a range of community instructor roles.
A straightforward approach, built on instructional discipline.
Ascend doesn't run on a trademarked framework. This is Paul's coaching philosophy in practice, and it stays open to change as the business grows.
Understand where a team or individual is now: strengths, gaps, and readiness, before anything is prescribed.
Hands-on training and facilitation, drawing on military-grade instructional standards built over 25+ years.
Team building, leadership development, and mentoring embedded into real working environments, not a classroom exercise.
Ongoing support and community-style accountability, so performance gains hold once the programme ends.
Draft language. This four-step outline is provided for Paul to confirm as an accurate description of how he actually works before it's treated as final copy.
Twenty-five years of building people, on and off the parade ground.
Paul Stevens is a Physical Training Instructor and Sergeant with more than 25 years of military service across the Royal Navy and the New Zealand Defence Force, including deployment experience.
He has delivered instruction on RNZAF Recruit Training, the Joint Officer Induction Course (JOIC), and Defence Physical Training Instructor (PTI) courses, training the people who go on to train others.
Ascend Human Performance carries that same standard into organisations, teams, and communities: closing the gap between where people are and where they need to be.

Ongoing, real-world engagement, not a portfolio.
Ascend doesn't have client case studies yet. What it has is a founder who shows up, week to week, in the following roles.
The proof will be in the people Ascend has worked with.
Ascend is a young business, so real testimonials will land here as engagements wrap up. These cards are reserved and ready for Paul's first client feedback rather than invented for launch.
